Student managed to take a picture of Lithuania from the space
A student from Lithuania constructed a probe (Glory 2011)which took some pictures of Lithuania from 30 km altitude.

15 years old Ernestas Kabaluckas from Joniškis, launched home-made probe which was lifted by meteorological balloon. In order to this, probe was able to take a pictures of Lithuania from 30 km altitude.
After 2 hours and 10 minutes flight, the probe reached 30 kilometers altitude, after that meteorological balloon bursted and landed basically where it was projected - a meadow between Anykščiai and Utena. The probe was successfully found and retrieved his unique collection on information.

"The feeling is amazing when you realize that the shots that shows blackness of space, earth curvature and blue atmosphere, created by my software, not by NASA spacecraft" said Ernestas Kabaluckas.
This is a second experiment. The total cost of both probes was about 1500€
