Rokiškis

Rokiskis estate group - the Republic of heritage monument - has started to form at the end of the eighteenth century, the Lithuanian guard chief Earl Tyzenhauz Ignatius (1760 - 1822) decided to install Rokiškis his residence. The whole building completed in 1801. Since then Rokiskis palace became a sort of nobility and aristocracy Lithuania attraction. 1940 the palace was moved Rokiskis Museum. With breaks here it exists to this day.

Today, the museum has 14 buildings in the estate of authentic, 28.1 hectare park with ponds. The museum has two branches: Obeliai and Kriaunos History Museum. Each year the museum held in 130 to 140 different events and exhibitions.
