Rokiškis
Rokiskis estate group - the Republic of heritage monument - has started to form at the end of the eighteenth century, the Lithuanian guard chief Earl Tyzenhauz Ignatius (1760 - 1822) decided to install Rokiškis his residence. The whole building completed in 1801. Since then Rokiskis palace became a sort of nobility and aristocracy Lithuania attraction. 1940 the palace was moved Rokiskis Museum. With breaks here it exists to this day.
Today, the museum has 14 buildings in the estate of authentic, 28.1 hectare park with ponds. The museum has two branches: Obeliai and Kriaunos History Museum. In museums funds over 78 years of accumulated and stored in numerous archaeological, historical, numismatic, art, ethnography, and others. museum collections, which represent over 80 thousand exhibits. The museum exposition has fixed 1748 sqm exhibition hall - 600 m, exposure Household Division - 254 m². In particular, a unique and valuable cultural heritage manor collection, exhibited in the authentic halls of the manor reconstituted, is widely known as one of the only such exhibition in Lithuania.
Each year the museum held in 130 to 140 different events and exhibitions. The museum, continuing Lionginas Šepka, the most famous twentieth century god, the creative tradition for 17 years, organized by the republican wood carvers exhibitions - competitions Lionginas Šepka Award winning for 8 years - Republican wood carvers creative camps - open-air, and from 1998 annually held national and international exhibitions of Christmas - contests.
