Hailed by music critics worldwide for his extraordinarily imaginative and original interpretations, the Russian-born Israeli pianist Victor Goldberg, based in New York, is a star in the classical music world. The winner of the 2008 Pro Musicis International Award, the Vladimir Horowitz International Piano Competition in Kiev and other international honors, he is a favorite of audiences throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. The Washington Post comments, “Victor Goldberg has technique to burn.”
Comparison to Vladimir Horowitz by various critics led the Philippine Star to respond, “He is incomparable; amazing in a class by himself.” Other critics agree: “Mr. Goldberg has been applauded as a “pianistic and poetic wonder” (The Boston Musical Intelligencer) with a “masterful tonal command and a romantic soul” (New York Concert Review). Vesti of Tel Aviv remarks on Mr. Goldberg's “rare gift to hypnotize the audience from the first chords.”
Mr. Goldberg's recent engagements include such high-profile venues as New York Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, and Bargemusic in New York City, Viena Konzerthaus, the Tel Aviv Museum of Arts and others. He most recently enjoyed a critically acclaimed debut tour in Asia, including China, Myanmar, Thailand, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
Mr. Goldberg was a full-scholarship recipient from the Juilliard School, the Manhattan School of Music, the Peabody Conservatory of the John Hopkins University and Tel Aviv University. He currently serves as an executive professor at the Online Academy for Classical Music of Lions Club Vienna MozART.
