Nida is the most western and biggest settlement of the Curonian Spit’s northern part, administrative center of Neringa municipality. Located on the coast of the Curonian Lagoon, the town attracts with its exclusive quietness: it finds shelter near Parnidis, Angiu and Urbas dunes from the west side and stretching far into the Lagoon Bulvikis cape (the widest place of the Curonian Spit) - in the north.

Nida is unique of its drifting sand dunes, which permanent movement is approved by gyttja exposures opened up on the Lagoon coast. Only here, from the top of Parnidis Dune, opens absolute mathematical horizon. Looking from 52 meters high Parnidis Dune everyone can admire Nida panorama and observe the sunrise from the Curonian Lagoon and the sunset into the Baltic Sea. The only sundial – calendar in Lithuania was built in this unique place in 1995. .

Nida's specific ethnographic architecture attracts tourists with its elegantly carved houses decorations and unique color. Atmosphere of the old Nida is created by curonian attributes: weathervanes of the kurenas boat and the unique tomb stones in the old cemetery. Nearby the cemetery there is an old red brick neo-Gothic church built in the 19th century. .
